Seeds of faith are planted by many hands. One pair of those gentle hands that God used to plant seeds of faith in my heart belonged to Mrs. Weston. As my 3 year old Sunday School teacher, she shared bible stories and the love of Jesus in a way that still influences me today. She was so special that I did not want to transition to the 4 year old class. One of her class projects, sat on my dresser throughout my growing years, and my mom kept it after I moved out of our house as an adult. It simply said, God Cares For…..and there was a small Polaroid black and white picture that Mrs. Weston pasted on to the card with her loving hands. That simple reminder of God’s care helped see me through many challenging days as those seeds of faith started to sprout. Those hands that crafted that card later cared for CTK with the same love that she showed to me as a 3 year old. As a teenager I watched her dedication and care in cleaning and preparing the building for worship each week. The effects of those cleaning solutions caused those hand to age quicker than the rest of her body. I still miss her homemade unleavened bread for communion crafted again by the hands of Mrs. Weston every time the Lord's Supper is celebrated with a wafer. Time and distance took me away until God gave me a chance to shake Irene’s hand a few years ago—after 40 years since she first held my small hand. Her mind still remembered that little three year old child and my sister. The love of Jesus still burned brightly in her eyes. I can only imagine the scene when our Lord held those fragile hand and looked into her eyes while proclaiming, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” May the faith that Mrs. Weston shared with so many comfort those tears that currently are falling from the eyes of those loved ones who await that special heavenly reunion. May the Lord's love abound in your lives until you have an opportunity to hold her hands again in heaven.

Irene was Jim's sister, Maribeth's, mother-in-law. And all we can say about Irene was that she was always so very sweet. She never seemed to complain and really enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed. We are sorry for the family's loss. Jim and Julie Hass

Irene was 10 years my senior, so there are many things I can recall. The one
that always jumps to the forefront is on a visit home she went into my mom's
garden and cut fresh leave off of beet plants and sautéed them in butter.

Irene was a sweet,kind, soft spoken lady and she will be missed by many.

We know you will all miss Irene, dearly, but knowing she is with her Savior, we hope will bring you all comfort and peace. It's never easy losing a loved one no matter how old they are. Our prayers are with you all. Love, Gary & Barab
