I so loved my Auntie Karen, I remember how Adam was always on her lap. It didn't matter how old he was. He loved her so much and her him. I was always so jealous, because he was the only child. I was the 2nd of four and never had my mother to myself. And she use to always tell us stories, and she had such a soft and calming voice. We listened to her so intently. I always loved to go to Adams house, we didn't see him often because we lived in Illinois and he lived in Wisconsin, but we always had fun. And his mom was always smiling. I know she is right now, as she watches over him and his family.

God's peace and comfort to the Lombardo family, especially to Lucas and Maddie who will miss grandma. May our Lord give you strength as you hold grandma close through the memories.

We never knew many of the bad things in this life...truly we were sheltered by a magical blanket of love and protection provided to us by our mothers.

As two young boys growing up in the inner city of Milwaukee Adam and I never knew that often our families went without. We went without many of the things our children now take for granted. We never knew many of the bad things in this life...truly we were sheltered by a magical blanket of love and protection provided to us by our mothers.
Often, as childhood best friends I would stay the night by Adam on 13th and Scott street under the watchful and loving eye of Karen. Cared for, well-fed (of course), and wonderfully loved as if I were her own son, I loved the time I spent there. During those days I always felt at home..Karen made it that way. I am certain Adam will tell you that he also enjoyed the same treatment from my mom when he came to our home. And so it went for many wonderful years....
When I was thirteen and lost my mother unexpectedly.....I remember still having Karen....who continued to love, shelter, and care for a shattered and lonely little boy ... filling a hole that nobody else could during that dark period.
As an adult I often think back on that time ...I find myself reflecting on what it meant to have Adam and Karen in my life....it sometimes reminds me of the "Footprints in the Sand" poem.
I have been searching for the right words to say about Karen...and as I type this brief message tears fill my eyes because I never took the chance to thank her for what she did for that lonely little boy so many years ago. So I will say it now...knowing she is listening from heaven, "Thank You - Mom."

I remember all of the times we'd sit around the table (Auntie Karen, Auntie Carol, Gramma and I) and she'd talk about her spoons. Where they came from, the ones she'd like to have. I hope she got them all. We would talk about Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. We shared similar interests in music. We laughed a lot. She had a great sense of humor. She was kind, caring and compassionate and loved her family very much. She will always be loved and remembered by many and is now with those she's missed for so long. My deepest sympathies.

I have many wonderful memories of Auntie Karen.When Adam was a little guy I would babysit him in the summers. Before Auntie Karen went to work and when she came home we would sit and talk.We talked about all sorts of things. I have always cherished those conversations. She and Uncle Frank hold a very special place in my heart.

as one of my favorite cousins growing up, I have many fond memories, and I will miss sharing our same birthdate. She wil always be in my heart.
